Walnut Cream Cheese Brownies!
Recently, hubs and I turned our second bedroom into a home gym of sorts. This has made it easier for us to exercise together. The other night I finished my workout and then ran back into the kitchen just in time to pull these out of these Walnut Cream Cheese Brownies out of the oven. I’ve never been much of a fitness lover, but I have always had a sweet tooth. Haha. Everything in moderation, right?
I baked some of these last night and hubby and I had a couple for dessert after dinner. This morning, I woke up to him saying, “I couldn’t sleep last night and umm.. the rest of those brownies are gone.” Hahaha. Needless to say, these were win in our house.
These are so delicious. The sweet brownie batter combined with the cream cheese makes for the perfect flavor combination. I’ve made them a few times without the walnuts and they’re still really great, so that’s definitely an option if you have nut allergy or just don’t want to add them. However, in my opinion, the walnuts add a little bit of crunch and texture change that bumps these brownies right over the top.
The first time I made these, I added the cream cheese, sugar, and egg to the same bowl and mixed them together all at the same time. However, I found that this makes it hard for the cream cheese to get completely smooth and it ends up being a little lumpy. Definitely cream the sugar and cream cheese together before adding the egg. This makes for a smoother mixture and final product. These are really simple to make and only take about 20 minutes to get into the oven.
